SOLD – A Very Fine, Large 19th Cent. Geo IV period. Mahogany Drop-Front Cylinder Bureau Desk.

SOLD – An exceptional, fine & very impressive Cuban Mahogany late Regency period drop-front desk in excellent almost original condition. circa 1820/30.

Raised on turned & reeded legs with three deep oak lined drawers above. All locking with key. Right hand drawer fitted with a separate locking interior compartment ( with Key ) & removeable item tray.

Above a curved drop-down front ( locking with key ) opening to a large pull-out 46ins x 24ins desk area and three deep drawers above. This interior in Satinwood & Ebony and still retaining its original nicely worn but undamaged gilt tooled green leather writing surface.

Above again, three deep mahogany & oak drawers with integral turned knobs.

This desk comes with an excellent Irish provenance (Osberstown House, Co. Kildare ) and has a deep aged patination. It seems to have had little interior wear since new. Perfect for almost any room & with its large desk top very suitable for a home office. We sincerely doubt that we will ever be able to offer a similar one in such good condition. again.
